Strasbourg, France

Welcome

Emergency Medicine Update Europe is in its eighth edition and we like to think that "EMU Europe" has come to stand for outstanding innovative continuing medical education combined with custom travel at the highest level. Every trip, we push ourselves harder to take the conference to greater heights and for 2024, we have our sights set in the extraordinary region of Eastern France, Alsace.

We will base ourselves in the beautiful Hôtel A La Cour d’Alsace in the oh so charming town of Obernai nestled between the rolling vineyards on the west and the Rhine River on the east.   The hotel has 50 rooms, 2 restaurants, a comfortable bar, lovely garden, spa and indoor pool.  It is smack in the middle of town with bars, restaurants, shops, bakeries and wine tastings everywhere.

Much of the bike riding will be along dedicated cycling paths snaking through the vineyards and at other times, we will follow the famous Route des Vins d’Alsace that connects the picturesque towns and villages.  The hiking will be similar but usually slightly higher up, taking advantage of the views from the vast network of hiking trails.

Naturally, we will eat and drink well.  Alsace is renowned for its gastronomic tendencies and the region has more Michelin-starred restaurants per capita than any part of France.   But the real treasures are the tiny family-run winstübs that are found in every town where the local specialities of choucroute, baeckeoffe, quenelles, tarte flambée, spaetzle and the delicious wines will be found.

But of course, we take as much pride in delivering an outstanding, innovative emergency medicine education program – with expert speakers, novel teaching methods, essential topics and engaged participants.  As an educator – I guarantee it.

Don’t miss out on the pre-trip in Strasbourg, a city of great beauty with a deep cultural heritage.   Tom Hamilton and his team has designed a program that combines all the things you have come to appreciate about Benefactor Travel – hassle free first class travel, great food and special access – as we tour Strasbourg beyond the typical tourist sites.

Opportunities like this don’t come along too often.  Space is limited.  The last couple programs have had huge waiting lists so don’t delay.  We truly hope that you can join us in 2024 for what promises to be a very special journey to Alsace.
